Sweet Meat

In case anyone has wondered where I disappeared to, I found a place to live! Yay! No more couch surfing Kate! I'm super stoked and I'll be moving in Feb 1st. This will be the first ever time I've lived on my own where I wont have to share my room with a boyfriend. You have no idea how stoked I am. PINK EVERYTHING.
Today I did this speed sketch to warmup before I work on commissions

I've also been mastering the fine art of the Kazoo. Please enjoy my video! Nik is my background interpretative dancer.

Sketches to Music 3

IAMX - Volatile Times

VAST - Pretty When You Cry

Xenomorphs

When I was about 9 years old, my parents thought it would be a good idea to take me to the Charlotte museum that had a special Aliens exhibit going on. They had a life sized animatronic Queen fighting with Ripley in her robot suit, complete with strobe lights and sound effects. It was HORRIFYING.
Around the same time, my parents also took me to the beach and one night they told me to go to bed because they were about to watch a scary movie. Being the bright one that I am, I sneaked out and sat behind the couch and watched Aliens. It was HORRIFYING.
A year later we were at another beach house and whoever had stayed in the house before us had accidentally left behind a big Alien action figure of the Queen. I was scared shitless of it and my parents hid it.
So ever since then, I've been terrified of the Aliens franchise. Not even my love of Giger could change my opinion and to this day Aliens make me flip out.
Where am I going with this? I just want you to understand the pure terror I had to endure while drawing this birthday present for my friend Rick of the band Mushroomhead. He loves Xenomorphs. So I drew him a chibi one.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
